Every person deserves care and respect. We can all grow in our relationships with ourselves, with others, and with our world. And no one is “too much” or “too complicated.”

A career spent growing, specializing, and adding the latest knowledge as a therapist has brought me back to this.

The basics need a deeper dive.

  • Do you want your EMDR Therapy to be more effective and want to be able to tackle very high SUDs events? Be amazing in this area of understanding and skills.

  • Understand the therapeutic relationship and what it means to be a quality co-regulator for our clients.

  • Every therapist ought to have a strong foundation in these areas no matter what population they work with. Avoid knowledge silos and broaden the lens you utilize to do case conceptualization.

  • Remember that it doesn't have to be fancy or complicated. Having a foundation in this is deeply helpful in EMDR with complex trauma.

  • Meet your client where they're at (even if it is wildly different from your own ideas) and learn to work with concepts of spirituality to aid in healing.

  • Our growth is a gift we give our clients and ourselves. We can’t take someone to a place that we are not! Integrating the best of what our therapy community has to offer at both a professional and personal level.

  • So many of our complex trauma clients have chronic medical issues later in life. Learn what questions to ask clients and their physicians. Improve outcomes and uncover treatable medical concerns that often can complicate therapy.

Helping others learn and grow.
